Communications Committee

The Communications Committee Mission Statement

  • Provides consistent, high-quality, and relevant communication to benefit all residents and provides communication support on behalf of all TLIA committees and when requested — on behalf of the Village, the Foundation, and the Police Department by placing messaging in our communication vehicles.
  • A well-informed membership drives volunteerism, involvement, and community action. The communications committee strives to keep the membership of TLIA informed on community actions, association plans, and community events using various channels of communication both analog and digital.

The Tower Lakes News

TLN, our community newsletter, publishes the first week of each month. Averaging between 8 and 12 pages per month, TLN covers all the happenings and events important to residents. Social activities, TLIA Committee business, Village of Tower Lakes business, minutes from meetings, and a regular group of content contributors all form the basis of TLN. The circulation currently stands at around 450 electronic recipients per month.

TLIA Community Email Blasts

TLIA maintains a very active network of email blasts to it members via iContact email services. It is most useful as a tool to reach residents between newsletter publication dates and as reminders of events. All the TLIA committees take advantage of the services announcing activities, events, and meetings. TLIA members can opt into the service and receive email notifications as well as the e-copy of the monthly TLN.

The TLIA Website

Redesigned in 2019 and privatized, the TLIA website has more functions, more information, and more utility than ever before for the members. A simple run through the site and the members can view a calendar of events, learn about committees, and sign up for activities. As the year passes the communications committee will continue to update and expand the site.
